...are currently dysfunctional. Pressing switch results in the wipers activating but no fluid being pumped, and no noise coming from under the bonnet.

So I thought I'd start basic diagnostics and start with the obvious, being the fuse. Clearly I didn't get the memo as the "fuse" is marked up as "electronic" according to the piece of paper inside the fuse box. ...and oddly I don't feel the urge to have to go to a $tealer for the privilege.

So other than buying all the parts necessary, and without a volt meter, how on earth can I test if it's either the relay, the pump, the switch or something else? Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated before I have a discussion with a police officer :wallbash:

It could be wiring, switch, pump or the front SAM, I do nto think there is a relay. Aquick session with Star used by a good MB specialist might be quicker and cheaper.

Happened to me couple of years ago. Combination switch died. Spray cleaner down the shaft inside it with precision straw (I used wd40 back then, would probably use electrical contact spray now) then attempt to use windscreen washers (make sure drivers door is shut otherwise won’t work) this might make it work temporarily as it did in my case, which means your combination switch is on the way out.

Getting to the pump means front NS wheel off, front half of the wheel arch liner off then you can see the pump and reservoir. Have fun (been there, done that!).

Bonnet up would prevent the washer, but would've thought the alarm would fail to set then.
