Hi, I have the w204 2.1 diesel. I’m wondering how often and what services I need?
I’ve read through a lot and see there’s different types. In the past I’ve only bought scrap cars so have never bothered but I want to keep this in good condition! It had its last service in may.
Thanks

Welcome

Depends on mileage and the type of mileage really - let us know that and may be able to guide you a little better

Secondly, where are you? Somebody can then recommend a good independent MB specialist in your area which will save you many £££££££££££

The intervals are complicated. Your car will know what it needs and tell you via the display on the instrument cluster. Your car will also be on DSB (online service book) and the services are updated on there. Garages have access to DSB but the general public doesn't. Your local MB specialist will be ale to help with what is due next as well as looking at your Assyst menu on the instrument cluster.

Not using the Stop/Start is one thing.

But there seems to be an ongoing discussion here whether the correct way of not using Stop/Start is by simply pressing the ECO button once at the beginning of each journey, or by resorting to more drastic measures such as uploading a hacked version of the Stop/Start ECU firnware via the OBDII port, or disabling the battery management finctionality which in turn disables Stop/Start, etc.

Fortunately the OP's car can have a simple permanent SS disable just by pulling the auxiliary battery's 7.5A fuse .

Having done this for months now I took the decision to remove the auxiliary battery as I've no use for it .

Other Mercedes and later models don't have as simple solution .

Thanks for reply’s.
The car has 86000 miles on the clock. I’ll have a look on the cluster tomorrow.
also is hasn’t got stop start.
I’m in Hartlepool

Didn’t know about this, so the only was to check the service history is to go to a Mercedes specialist?

But you've stated in a previous thread it's a facelift !

2.1 , 2143cc OM651 7G+ or
2.2 , 2148cc OM646 5 gears ?

I’ll be honest with you I’m not sure, if I put it in manual it only has 5 gears so I’m guessing 5?
Just checked the car it says service B 181days

This is all it came with?
