Car
W204 220CDI SPORT AMG
<div class="bbWrapper">Wondering what would be a good price/bargain for w204 220cdi Sport, car has 2 previous owners, has half merc half merc specialist and some independent garage history up to date, 2 keys, has sat nav and all toys but weirdly no parking sensors and heated seats. Everything else is here. It's in black with very clean body (8/10) and is 08 plate. Done genuine 92k miles from new and is HPI CLEAR. Previous owner owned the car for 4.5 years. There is a record also for gearbox oil changes, done at 50k then at 72k. He adverted the car for £7000 but i managed to knock it down to £6300 and bought the car , looked online and can't find a similar spec model, year and mileage for less than 7/7500. Got the car for almost 2 weeks now and it's all spot on so far. Did i got a bargain or should i worry lol. <img src="/styles/mbclub/smilies/slayer.gif" class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt="" title="Slayer " data-shortname="" /></div>

<div class="bbWrapper">That is a bargain bud.<br /> <br /> If you have some cash left over though I would look at retrofitting parking sensors though.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">That is a good deal, mine sounds the same spec in white and have had offers above this, I will likely put it up for 8-9k when I sell it<br /> <br /> In fact having reading the OP post again, I'd expect to get that for six maybe even less, 2008 plate in black with only half mercedes service history I think there's a possibility to of got it £300 cheaper</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">The W204 is a great car, but if you really are worried about if you got a bargain or not, why not look at the previous model rather than the first year of the 204?<img src="/styles/mbclub/smilies/dk.gif" class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":dk:" title="Dk :dk:" data-shortname=":dk:" /><br /> I paid half what you did for an 07 C180k estate with similar miles. Yes, it is a petrol car but is rather less noisy that the 4 pot wood burner.<br /> It has managed nearly 20k miles with me over the last 2 years and averaged over 40mpg. It's smooth, quiet and has not a sporting bone in it's body....and cost almost nothing in deprecation.<br /> It had a great start to life as an Avis Car (!) so has just laughed at anything I can do to it<img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f631.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":o" title="Eek! :o" data-smilie="9"data-shortname=":o" /><br /> It will also still do things like this when asked nicely<img src="/styles/mbclub/smilies/thumb.gif" class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":thumb:" title="Thumb :thumb:" data-shortname=":thumb:" /></div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Because the W203 looks old.<br /> <br /> The W204 isn't long out of production - they made it from 2007 to 2015, with a minor facelift in 2012. So having an early one is a great way in to having a newer looking car.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Yes, sorry<img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f631.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":o" title="Eek! :o" data-smilie="9"data-shortname=":o" /> As an engineer I keep forgetting that most people care about what the car looks like not what it does<img src="/styles/mbclub/smilies/doh.gif" class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt="" title="Doh " data-shortname="" /><br /> I only really care what I experience from the drivers seat, very selfish, I know<img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f609.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=";)" title="Wink ;)" data-smilie="2"data-shortname=";)" /></div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Of course we care what it does. <br /> <br /> And my 58 plate w204 Elegance does a lot of things very nicely indeed thanks.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">... but newer ones do more too.<br /> <br /> If I could afford a W205, I'd drop my W204 like a hot coal.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Agreed! But the OP seemed to be asking if he had got a bargain...and if if it fits his requirements, then he has<img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f600.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":D" title="Big Grin :D" data-smilie="8"data-shortname=":D" /><br /> I've had most of the cars in the Mercedes range, the higher up the range and the newer they are the more they cost. (Check my albums!)<br /> So 'bargain' is all relative, the 203 is old and cheap, but I see it as a real bargain after having had up to £15k a year deprecation on a new S Class.....<img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f609.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=";)" title="Wink ;)" data-smilie="2"data-shortname=";)" /></div>

<div class="bbWrapper">How can you not have a bargain, first few weeks of driving would have shown any major faults and it's been well serviced, if you are still concerned I find that the first port of call is an MOT station and ask them to go through a good MOT check and that will show any obvious faults if it fails. Next if you are still not comfortable I would find a good independent Merc garage and tell them your story and the cars history and get them to spend a couple of hours checking it over, £100 and hey prestos confidence.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Aye - I had an RAC check done on mine, not that I thought it had problems to be fair to Mercland, but just for my own peace of mind. They found no issues and reported it to be in top notch condition.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Just found a paperwork from Wurth Mercedes specialist, the car has been checked all over every little been been checked and only found 2 rear tyres low on thread witch been replaced in same garage same date.</div>
