W204 3 pointed star boot badge - black

Morning all,

I want to replace the silver 3 pointed star on the boot of my W204 coupe with a black one, so two questions.

1. Are these easy to get off eBay, amazon etc. or should I just order one from my local dealer ?
2. Are they just a stick on badge (assume a hairdryer will release them) or is the badge held on via a pin of some sort I need to play around with the boot lid interior to fix?

Hi,

The ones listed on ebay, that I've seen, have three pegs on the rear, located near the centre of the star. You might need to remove some interior trim, unless they are held in place with self locating shouldered plastic sleeves or similar, these might remain in place and the badge would simply pull/prize off. More than this, I don't know.

No need to remove any trim, I had a black ebay badge on the rear of my S204, held on by little lugs & double sided sticky foam, just prise the original off, clean the sticky residue & replace with new badge.

The pegs are for precise location. The only fixing is the adhesive.
