OK - who's done anything or knows anything.

I'm getting my local audio place to remove the door cards and fit some Focals on tuesday, this is phase one.

Phase two is going to be a custom sub under the rear shelf, probably a pair of 10s in a shallow housing. Now, I'm intrigued as to how the factory sub is wired and coded - I can't find an amp in the EPC so is it already integrated in the car somewhere or as part of the sub?

If so, with the head unit having all the filters built in in the engeineering menu is there a sub output from it that I can use that just needs coding to turn on? In fact is the whole Logic 7 thing just software and speakers on a 204?

Any help would be great - I want to keep wiring to a minimum so I can easily swap to a Comand if I get too bored!

Have they done this to a W204 before? There are a couple of threads over on the MBWorld forums about replacing the OEM drive units on a W204 and it's a non-trivial exercise that involves physically cutting out the line-fit speakers. The rears are particularly awkward.

Just a heads up...

IIRC I read they are riveted in so the rivet needs to be drilled out. If the company havent worked on a W204 I would print out any guide you can find on removing the door card etc so they dont damage anything and know exaclty what to do before hand.

They ain't doing the work without me pre-inspecting issuing guides, it's the first one they've done but they've worked on my cars before (I switched to someone else for a while who were much cheaper but hey they've gone bust...)

They were already warned about the rivets when I saw them about doing it in the first place.
