hi, can anyone help please, c220 coupe , has a vibration between 60-80mph I’ve had all wheels balanced, discs and pads replaced, tyres are all good and fairly new, centre bearing on prop shaft has minimal play , engine mounts don’t appear to be leaking , it’s driving me mad as I’m up and down the motorway weekly , any ideas please ?

I suggest you look for someone who can check the wheel balance with the wheels in-situ (and not off the car). Your issue may caused by the hub of discs etc.

Another option is to rotate the wheels front-to-back and see what happens (unless they are staggered)

Can you describe the vibration? Had a similar problem on my m3, and it turned out the top mounts on the rear shocks were worn.

You start to feel it around 58mph up to about 80, starts off slight vibration it’s worse around 65-75 like a constant dddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd if you know what I mean hard to explain, feel it through the car and I pull sun visor down it’s shaking like mad really annoying can drives fine with no issues or noises up to 58ish mph

Staggered so can’t switch around, brand new discs and pads front and rear haven’t solved the problem

I had bad vibrations at motorway speeds (you could see the passenger seat vibrate), long story short it was a slightly buckled wheel (pothole victim). A couple of local garages had checked that and ruled it out, but a better garage spotted it and arranged to have it repaired, which completely fixed it.

That’s interesting, the one rear wheel needed loads of weight 120/80 adding and as it spun did look a bit buckled, looks like I need a back wheel then, thanks for the info, cheers

As above, I'd say a buckled wheel. I've had it in the past where although the wheel would balance out OK, you feel the buckle through the car at speed.

Smaller buckles can be repaired by specialist wheel refurbishment centres, so you may not need to buy a new wheel.

Cheers, I will try get hold of a wheel to try it before buying a new one
Thanks

Update , realized now this vibration only starts happening after an hours driving , set off this morning and thought I’d pay more attention, an hour after setting off and mostly motorway speeds it started, don’t feel it as much at 80+ or under 55 so I’m really baffled now, something must be getting warm and then causing the problem to show it self

It could be that as your tyres warm up (and so the pressure increases) its making the vibration more noticeable. That would be my theory anyway...

Makes sense, I’ve checked the wheel temperatures after a 2.5hr journey and all around 25 apart from front left which was 30, I will have to get a wheel I guess and hope for the best , thanks
