Hello guys

First time post here but generally confused on my tensioner, so I believe I need it changed I have the dreaded rattle from it but I have a part number for a genuine tensioner from mb Newcastle on ebay however I cant tell if it's the correct one for my car,

My understanding is my engine is a om651, please do correct me if I'm wrong being my w204 is a 2012 year also.

The oem part number I have is A6510500800 and with Corona going on I cant call mb to confirm if its correct or not, I'm hoping someone here has the knowledge that if I'm correct to what I'm looking at so I can purchase one to replace my existing as I'm nearing the 100k mark also.

Many thanks

Martyn

You’ll need to change the timing chain as well - replacing them tensioner alone is only a temporary solution.

My vin is WDD2040012A701792

Here you go:

Chain tensioner A 651 050 08 00
Chain A 000 993 82 76

I've attached the full list in case you'll need them.

BTW, I had the same issue and changed just the chain tensioner at 300k km and so far after 35k km engine is working great. I change the engine oil every 8k km.

You won’t be able to buy one from Mercedes as almost all of the dealers are closed now.

I have a brand new OEM here along with the timing chain and associated parts if you need.... I wont need it for a while as the garage who were changing mine have closed due to covid-19... give me a shout.

Thought I could get away with just tensioner luckily with Corona going on I'm not using the car much I'll have to get both sets now then thanks very much for your help much appreciated.
