W204 C220 fault code P0697 01/01

Have an engine management light on where fault code on diagnostics as above. Looking for any advice for what it relates to. Car has misfires in 3rd gear at 40mph (rarely / now and again) but all searches prove negative. Fault does not clear.
Any help much appreciated.

Seems to have numerous faults all coming back to carbon build up on the inlet side. Will have to take it apart to clean i think.

Thanks for the reply.
Car does not go in to limp mode, just struggles at about 3500 revs.
I have since put a Tiger chip on the car and run a tub of egr cleaner through it and the errors have gone for now.
Don't know if its the cleaner or chip that's done it but all well at the mo.
