Morning all trying get the bottom of a engine noise that's like a droning/whirring noise on acceleration .
On idle it sounds normal & perfect.
Going out soon to drive from cold to see if its heat related, or would taking off the serpentine belt & starting and revving the engine to see if the noise is gone with the belt off.
Anyone have any pointers?

Is it Definately from the engine, could it be a front wheel bearing which increases noise as the vehicle speeds up? Can you hear the noise from the engine as you rev it without moving.

Hi no its definitely when revving the engine, I'm having problems with the DPF at the moment, could this be back pressure related pressure building up?

Car is behaving really strange, noise from engine & gear changes are different, holding gears longer than normal.
All since replacing the DPF pressure sensor?
Anyone gave any ideas?

Yes, new electro plate (TCU) & gearbox fluids & filter. It was done by a gearbox specialist.

Morning i have a hissing noise from the right side of the engine, if you are standing in front of the car with the bonnet open.
It's near a black bike with around 4 rubber hoses going to it, is this noise normal?

Could be related to the pressure sensor? If I remember correctly its in the engine bay with hoses running to it?
Or could it be a turbo/inlet hose issue?

Also when i press the brake i get a ticking noise from the engine bay for about 5 seconds, if i release the brake and press again it will tick for 5 seconds again .
I can only describe it as a pressureised item tick while filling up and once full the ticking stops?

Any ideas anyone?

Turn the radio up LOUD ! No seriously, invest in an engine stethoscope you will find one online. some are hollow tube which can be used to pinpoint air/vacuum leaks.

That ticking could be the evap solenoid it uses vacuum to purge the fuel tank? could be related.

Thanks guys, think it's time to take it to an indy.

Did you ever get this fault cured?

I have a W204 2012 250CDI and when i press the brake pedal (car stationary) and release it, i get a ticking sound from inside the engine bay.

Such a strange issue I cand find any other posts relating to this other than this one so I really hope you can help me.

Thanks

Hi, did you ever find out what the ticking was? I have the same issue and had it looked out by a few indy garages, all giving different responses and seemigly confused! Would be a great help if you managed to resolve it
