Hi all…

My 2012 C63 front lower control arm on drivers side is shot and need replacing.
My questions is, should I replace both front left and right at same time? The specialist Merc Indy said to do just the one but on reflection I’m thinking it makes more sense to do both on this car…. It’s done 88k miles now and I’m interested in opinions…. They are £400 each (just part) which is why I think they said just do the one that has to be done…
Also.. anyone know what the book says on time for this job?
Thanks

Honestly, I’d do the pair. It’s the bush in the end that’ll be the crux. One will be new, one will be worn. On a shopping car, yeah, one will be fine, but on a performance machine I’d want it even side to side. It’d bug me otherwise

Thank you. As I suspected… Will get both sides done at same time…

Very wise, I’m going to change all four on my E class, the offside upper is the only one leaking, but I might as well do all four while I’m at it. 😬

Blimey, that's pretty hopeless. My 1991 control arms were replaced in 2017 after 420K Kms.

Is this typical of more recent MBs?

Id imagine a C63 to have alot more torque than your 1991 model.plus the roads of today are shocking . My warranty company only covers all suspension parts upto 60,000 miles.

I fitted lower control arms at 85K replaced with Lemforder.
