Hi All

I should soon be the owner of a 2013 W204 C63 estate - excited doesn't quite sum it up! The car has full MBSH and isn't due a service in mileage terms (less than 3k since the last one), but it was last done in March '20 so I think I'll get one more or less as soon as I have it. It's on 68k miles, and the last services at 65k and 60k were both "A" services. The MB website suggests another A service. My question is, does that sound right, and in my shoes would you keep it done with MB? I quite like the idea of keeping the stamps etc, but ultimately if/when it needs anything beyond routine servicing, I'll take it to a specialist as MB will likely be too expensive.

Thanks
Matt

Just had a 'B Service' done last week on my W204 C63. The last service it had was exactly a year ago and that was an 'A Service'. In between I had driven only around 2000 miles. I've owned the car for a year.

Now that it's had both an alternating A and B services in my ownership, I plan to keep doing this every year around this time. So an 'A Service' next July and a 'B Service' the year after that. I'll do that regardless of mileage. Simply cos the car is now almost 10 years old and I want to keep it in the best condition.

I took mine to a well recommended specialist in Essex.

How can it have full mb service history if its had 2 consecutive a services it goes A then B as mentioned above also additional items which this year on yours is the plugs aswell as they are every 4 years if you type your reg in the MB service website it will tell you exactly what is due 😉

The car should be serviced annually regardless of mileage. If the car was last serviced in March 20 it shouldn’t be sold as FMBSH as it should have been serviced in March 21. If I were you I would go through the service history diligently to ensure all services have been done in line with MB specification. I would then insist that the relevant service for March 21 be carried out before parting with any cash.

As others have told you, Servicing is annually regardless of mileage inbetween services & as Spider said it should be A, B, A, B & so on.

That's basically what I am wondering too. What is weirdest is that when I type the reg in on the MB website it says another A is due.

The "A" service that it had at 60k included brake fluid, transmission fluid and rear axle oil change too, which seems more extensive than other A services... Possibly incorrectly logged as A rather than B?

Could you share the specialist please? I live in NE London so may be an option for me.

The A and B service are normal its the additional items which are done on time or mileage etc brake fluid is every 2 year's plugs every 4 years transmission at 3 year's ( i think) pan roof every 3 years the rear diff im not sure on but mines been done twice and so on so check thats all been done to MB spec as mentioned above its NOT GOT FMBSH have it serviced before you buy as this year's is not a cheap 1

Thanks all - I'll go thru the history again. Agree with the comments re full MBSH etc, and also with this year not being a cheap one!

a few people do oil and filter changes alot more with in the service period

What specialist was that mate good to know all the ones around me

Hi all. I hope you're all keeping well.

I have my B service coming up in a few months. The car had its full shebang A service last year (spark plugs, oil filter change, oil change, twin air filter change) . Just wanted to see if I've covered everything for the B services with you guys. I buy my own parts:

oil change
oil filter change
pollen filter replacement
I have brake fluid, new brakes (doubt they'd need changing), coolant, steering fluid.

Appreciate if you let me know if I've missed anything. Thank you. The car will have done probably 45K miles by the time the B service is due.

B service is the same as the A service just a few more checks everything else is additional items done on time and miles so it will defo include brake fluid (every 2 year's)

In hindsight I would have had my 2013 C63 serviced more than once a year, because of the marked difference the annual service made to driving it. The most noticeable difference of any car I have owned. I would say an oil and filter change every 6 months in addition to the usual services. Also, transmission fluid changes seemed to make a difference.

And tyres. It's pretty sensitive to good tyres. Just because they're legal doesn't mean you are getting optimum handling, If your MPS4Ss are more than halfway worn to legal limit, get new ones. If you don't have MPS4Ss, get them.

Contact Sport 6 were good but didn't last on my w204 I now have Mps4s on the w205 with the 275,35,19 rear's not really had it out since fitting them so can't really comment

Best tyres around and they do stick like glue.

Highly recommended for any performance RWD cars!
