W204 estate roof bars - help!

Hi

I have bought a pair of genuine roof bars but I'm buggered if I can work out how to fit them correctly! They seem too narrow to span the rails without being positioned very close together?

Does anyone know how to properly fit/position these, or even better have an electronic copy/scan of the manual?

I assume you've got the end caps opened to reveal the bracket beneath?

The Allen key needs to be unscrewed quite a lot (I use a cordless screwdriver with an Allen key 'bit') to allow the bars jaws to go over the roof rails

There is a small icon underneath the roof bar telling you if it is the front or rear bar (different lengths because the roof tapers front to back, so widest bar towards the front)

Get them tight but cautious of how much power you use with cordless driver!

Also, there is a small amount of 'play' effectively meaning the bars can be pulled or pushed in overall length slightly to suit position.

Reminds me - must take sodding things off as can't clean / polish roof with them on!
