.....so the foglights have been dropped ? ? ?

I am still not completely taken by the W204 generally. The rear has always looked a bit bloated. The W203 still retains nicer proportions IMHO.

.

if I'm not wrong xenon lights on new E Class work also as fog light (yes they should have a sensor and brain to to this:)), may be the same will be on the restyling W204 C Class

It's just my idea

Cheers

The rear of the W203 is far to narrow, looks like its been squashed.

Yes, similar to the Vauxhall Insignia - they created (IMO) a pretty good front end, imposing side profile and then got scared that they'd made a big car, so they dumbed down the back end a bit.

I like the 204 a lot, externally it's gone back to the more traditional shape at the front end, shared for generations up until the 203 / 210 / 220 went 'speigelei'.

Ian.

Crikey! That's the laziest facelift... ever.

Just looked through S204 preislist on mercedes-benz.de and they only things different I can see is the front LEDS.

EDIT: Don't think it is the facelift - I would expect that for MY2011. Looking at the preislist, the daytime running lights are a new part of the Intelligent Light System option:

"Bi-Xenon-Scheinwerfer mit variabler Lichtverteilung für Landstraße,
Autobahn und starken Nebel, aktiver Kurvenlichtfunktion, dynamischer
Leuchtweitenregulierung, Abbiegelichtfunktion in den Nebelscheinwerfern,
LED-Tagfahrleuchten, Scheinwerferreinigungsanlage und Blinker
Heckleuchte in LED-Technik"

Its not a major facelift, simple nip and tuck

I don't mind them as sidelights... but daytime lights

I'd rather decide for myself when I need lights on.

You can have front fogs in the main light cluster ... the Vito/Viano is like this (there are 3 lights in each unit - main, dip, and fog).

The EU have decreed that you are not competent in that area, but that they are. Henceforth all new cars will have daytime running lights that you can't turn off

They don't have to be conspicuous Audi-style "running" lights. For example, the VW Golf VI has DRLs as part of the main light cluster.

Why oh why do they insist in trimming the windows in alu-bling...

It's a supposed to be a "sports saloon".

My M3 had nice simple clean window tim, as did the S4, and my current W203 Sport Edition.

So why spoil the W204 Sport with ****e shiny bits. :wallbash:

wonder if this post 15 Oct production applies to RHD models too?
