W204 Strange Dome Light Issue

Hi,

I have recently got hold of a W204 C220 estate but I am trying to sort out a strange issue with the interior lighting. The previous owner had placed non CANBUS LED bulbs within the interior lights but they where intermittent and flickering. I have placed the original bulbs back in place for the footwell lights, rear cargo, rear dome lights and front dome lights but the front dome bulbs are still not working correctly.

There is also some strange behaviour with the front buttons on the dome lights as only 3 are lit up, and when I press the dome light on/off switch only then do all the buttons illuminate.

Any ideas?

Those front center dome lights have large reflector housings and so are retena burning bright with LED.



I put in halogen 955 16W in the end , a step up from 501 5W .

The problem is that the front interior lights is no longer working regardless of which bulbs I put in. The rear interior light is fine and the footwell lights are also fine.

Any advise?
