My W204 is making strange noises sometimes so I need to ask
it is 2011 200CDI blue efficiency with 150k miles
never had any issues with it but recently I am experiencing strange symptoms
after start engine runs ok but very agricultural, not as ususal, even warm it is very ticky, like tktktktktktktktktktktk
also more hearable when accelerating
this happens once in two weeks, when I shut engine and start again you can barely hear engine run, works great
No error codes no faults on Mercedes diagnostic
also to mention...I have 2 sec rattle on cold start probably chain tensioner and had couple of times before when cold starting minut or two rpm needle up and down but that doesnt happen any more, solved by itself :)

any ideas ?

The chains can "stretch" a little on these and if you hear the cold start rattle its time to sort it.
Not a huge job.

It could well be the chain making the tick tick noise, if left it can damaged the plastic chain guides and thats an engine out job. As it is a new chain and tensioner can be done with the engine still in situ.

That sounds quite nice that engine.. I didnt hear a rattle, but I can here the aux belt chirping away, could need a new alternator / water pump belt maybe? Or maybe one of the idler pulleys. I changed the idler pulleys on mine at 100K as they started to hum a bit. They were not what I would call high quality components so glad I did.

Hopefully the timing chain is fine in yours then. Mine did it 7 out of every 10 starts 👍

I also have a vacuum loss when i press brake pedal, and these days I will do a service where I will change many parts, and I will publish them. I want to keep it as a car and I think to change the chain as well

Yes a very nice car, I would certainly be spending a bit on it to keep it nice. I don't think 261K is that high for these either. My local independent specialist services one with 400K miles on it, still going strong..

Vac loss ? Prob time for a new vac pump had a few give way and cause hard pedal. In relation to the rattle at that mileage I'd be doing a chain and tensioner sooner rather than later as I had to replace a chain after 105k and found it was that stretched and rattling for that long it had worn the guide away from keep slapping it. Few hours job to do if left can also cause extended starting and fuel economy issues
