W204 - where are the front fogs?

So today I noticed when I push the fog light button on the dash that the daytime running lights (shown above) go out, but nothing else appears to come on.

I have the xenon light pack which looks just like the above photo.

Are there no front fogs on this?

And supplementary question, why would the DRLs go out?

I had that thought a while ago as well. I remember reading this:

Seems to suggest there are no dedicated front fog lights and the Intelligent Light System kicks in instead.

Thanks Wjk, I did think the intelligent lighting adjusted the pattern, but I could not see it when testing this morning. From that video I can see the adjustment is very small, you'd need a dark location and a keen eye to see it happening.

Interesting to also read that someone thinks the DRLs are capable of dimming.

I don't have ILS, and so have fogs in place of those DRLs.

If I select Daytime Running Lights on, in the settings, it just puts the Xenon headlights on when the key is in the ignition.
