I borrowed a W205 recently - generally very nice! However, why have they swapped the indicator and cruise control stalks around? On my CLS and 3 previous E-Classes (also a W204 I borrowed a couple of years back from memory) the cruise control stalk is above the indicator stalk - this makes the indicator nicely to hand and keeps the cruise control out the way so you don't use it by accident. Obviously for the couple of weeks I had it I gave very few indications and kept putting the cruise control on when I turned right (left turns weren't as much of an issue unless cruise was already on, in which case it got turned off!). Annoying:doh:

Anyone else had the same issue?

That change was introduced on the W204 in 2012 (MY13). Personally I find that arrangement better, the cruise control stalk is short and stubby anyway and I can't recall ever accidentally using it. That said, I came from a BMW 1-series and they have the same arrangement so was already used to it.

being new to merc found it all very weird to have a stalk.
had a mazda and the only thing i couldn't do from steering wheel control was open the doors!
cruise control on steering wheel makes more sense as your hands (yes both) should on the wheel at all times anyway so removing to set cruise and come back just seems wrong

i'll get used to it, no choice, but only use through roadworks anyway for the average speed cameras so not end of world
