One easy way to check if the thermostat is bad:

Start your car when the engine is at ambient temperature and is completely cold. Take a short drive. When you see the temperature meter needle move from bottom, stop somewhere safe and open the hood. The upper hose from the engine should be cold close to the radiator. If it is lukewarm - You need to replace the thermostat. I remember that the thermostat in this engine is partially electrically controlled. Check the connection on the top of it.

Shall i pull up as soon as the needle slightly moves?

Is it this pipe to check with the green dot? Pic attached

You could let the needle go up to some ...40 C then check. And yes - it is the hose marked with the green dot.
