W205 C270CDI - slipping to neutral when stationary

Hi there folks,

First post here.

I have a 2017 C class moving from D1 to neutral when stationery. This only happens when start/stop is non enabled. Drives perfectly when this is active.

Been happening for a couple of months...Merc specialist (not main dealer) found no issues. Not a massive problem to now, just switch back to drive and I'm off. However, after a painful drive up the A3 last night, wouldn't move to drive, just kept going from D1 to N immediately. After persevering, it found D3 and I was off again.

However, absolutely no issues while start/stop is working.

Any ideas please?

It needs to be plugged in again to see if there is anything logged. I would try some software first if there is new available.

Thanks for the reply, Merc specialist has standard OBD reader (as do I) which is picking up a fault for reverse, which he has cleared as reverse isn't affected. He's recommended a software update for the gearbox but doesn't have Merc proprietary software (Xentry?).

Car's booked in with Sandown Hindhead on Wednesday for diagnostics, I'll let you know what they say. Lot of money with Merc direct though, even for diagnostics, but don't have a choice!

You need a garage with Star diagnosis
