Hi all,
I have a 2022 C63S Coupe (number plate: 8LDN) in case anyone wants to look up the exact spec of the car.

I’ve noticed something a bit odd with the pops and bangs from the exhaust. Sometimes, whether I'm driving or revving while stationary, I don't get any pops or bangs at all — I can hear the engine revving loudly, but nothing from the exhaust. Other times, everything works perfectly fine, and the sound is exactly what you'd expect.

This issue is pretty rare, but noticeable when it does happen. The car is completely stock (no modifications) and still under warranty for another year and a half.
Is this normal behaviour for these cars? Or do you think it's worth getting checked out under warranty?

P.S. I LOVE MY CAR <3
Appreciate any insight — thanks in advance!

Probably depends which engine mode you have selected. Comfort, sport or sport +
Tried it in Sport+?

Hi sorry I should have made this clear…

I drive in S+ at all times.. both exhaust and suspension set at S+ too (highest performance)

Even if I flick it into race mode it is normally the same and can hear engine rev but no pops or crackles

OK, not sure what the issue is then.
The pops and bangs are usually the unburnt fuel on the over run igniting

In a 2022 car the pops and bangs are going to be pretty muted, compared to a pre-OPF (pre-2019) car. But guessing know that.

You won’t always get much noise from the exhaust when stationary, in my experience you have to be pretty aggressive on the throttle to provoke it.

When driving its fairly easy to elicit noise, but you need to be well up the rev range before letting off, especially on an OPF fitted car.

I have a 2021 model and was experiencing the same thing, nothing happens when I revved it at standstill, this changed after I had a software update during service.

It brought the pops and bangs back, and it does so consistently.

When was the last time you had an engine software? The attached was also a recall that was dealt with at the same time

Perfect
Well my engine light flashes and the car feels like it misfires time to time
So tomorrow I have an appointment

Will get it looked into along with the pops and bang see what they say!

Thank you so much for letting me know

I may be wrong, but I’m sure I’ve heard that pops and bangs etc are limited when you have an engine code.
