Hi, I am new to the MBCLUB and recently switched from M4 to C63S gen 1 2018.

In normal comfort driving mode it is not as smooth as my old M4 DCT. It is especially noticeable (auto (D) & sports exhaust off) when slowing down at low speeds (30mph to a stop or into a roundabout). The down shifts are very abrupt and jerky... it also seems to struggle to select the right gear to use... it does not feel right to me so I will have this checked out.

Anyone else experienced this or know a fix?

thanks

Welcome I would get that car into a indy and get it on star I would also look at a atf and filter change on your gearbox,no matter what the mileage,do it as quick as you can, because this could end with a very big bill if left for anytime, you do not say where in Essex so that you can get a recommendation for a indy.

Thanks for the reply. Ok that’s sounds worrying. What is an indy and a star please? Car has 10k on clock. I have currently booked it into MB and they said they will run a diagnostic on it. I am in Chelmsford. Thanks.

An "indy" is an independent MB (or another marque) specialist, Star is the MB diagnostic computer system needed for full diagnosis.

Just bought it from MB. 10k on clock.
If you just bought it from an MB dealership, then you should take it back and discuss your dissatisfaction with them. If you bought it as an approved used Mercedes, you will have a one-year warranty and a 30 days exchange period.

Thanks. Yes I have discussed this and a few other items to be resolved. I also emailed them yesterday as well which they replied asking me to book into my local MD.

Well just logged back into this thread, not often you get a op who has bought a 40 grand car and knows nothing much about the MB Tier 1 my original post was with me thinking the C63s was say a older car I missed it was a 2018 motor, this is one weird thread,at least MB at Chelmsford will sort it out,Gavin has always raved about the service he has had from them.

Np and appreciate all the feedback. My main reason for the thread was to see if this was a common problem as I know nothing about Mercs.
It’s a strange one as sport and sport+ Up and down shifts (M or A) are great and responsive etc... not DCT quick but quick enough.
Seems to be only in comfort mode when driving slow and when switching gear 2 to 1. probably nothing but worth getting it checked just in case.

Hi mate , any further info on this thread regarding jerky low gear shifts ?What the MB said when you had it checked, i have absolutely same issue on my C63 ... is this normal ?I love my C63 its not a biggie for me but I do wonder also don't wish for further issues down the line. Thanks

Would you not be better informed by asking your dealer?

Your car is still under warranty so any software fix etc will have to be applied by them. 👍

My 7 speed had the jerking when coming to a stop. I reset the gearbox and it learnt my driving style and is no longer jerky.

Seems to do it more if it's been driven aggressively for a few journeys and then just driving normally after that
