Hi,

I thought it may be useful to pass on the following information. For those looking to buy a spare wheel and jack for the W205, in place of the compressor and foam. The jack is listed as part number:

A2055800000 £109.08

However a complete kit consisting of the jack, wheel brace, chock and gloves can be found under part number:

B66850788 £63.00

My dealership expressed surprise at the cost of the complete kit but it is listed in the accessories catalogue. It was meant to be 15 days back order from Germany but they got it for me in about 6 days in the end.

The emergency spare wheel is listed under part number:

Space saver wheel A2054000100 £236.52

Sizing from the handbook shows:

"Minispare" emergency spare wheel

Tyres Light-alloy wheels
T 135/80 R17 103 M
Tyre pressure: 420 kPa (4.2 bar/61 psi)
3.5 B x 17 H2 ET 19.5

However I managed to get a 'new' second hand wheel of the same specs for £70 including delivery. Once I started searching for the wheel by size and not part number, there were several available. I'm assuming these will be off a different model but as long as they are exactly the same specification, I am happy to use it.

My W205 is the Sport version with 17" wheels, so the information above may not be relevant if you are running bigger wheels, you would need to check.

Hope this helps.

Anyone know the actual size of a space saver to suit 18 inch on a W205 etc to help me source one, as my new sport line premier plus estate has the sealent only, would one from a sport plus 2012 - 2014 W204 fit for instance. I was thinking this would be a good chance of sourcing the jack, bolts, wheel from a write off somewhere.
Thanks

Mercedes W205 jacking kit

Hi I have a 2015 W205 C250 AMG line and want a jack kit and spare wheel before I go off touring in Europe, did you buy your B66850788 toolkit in the UK and where from? cheers

Hi, I have been looking for the jack tool kit as well but beware! the W205 has a different floor pan to the W204 and the B66850788 jack does not fit according to Mercedes, for the W205 you need part number A2055800100. Note that the pictures shown for these kits are a generic photo, ie all look the same, but my understanding is that the difference lies in the bit on the end of the jack that sits in the jacking point of the car, I am told it was changed for the W205. For a space saver wheel (in my case 18") take a look at this website: Mercedes C-Class W205 2013-2016 SPACE SAVER SPARE WHEEL 18 AMG LINE " + UNIVERSAL LIFTING JACK AND WHEEL BRACE AND COVER BAG - English One other point to note is that be careful and check that because the space saver wheel is thinner, that the wheel bolts do not protrude too far into the hub and damage the parking brake mechanism, give it a dummy run fitting the wheel loosely and rotating the wheel by hand to ensure nothing is catching on the rear of the hub.
I am only passing on info that I have been given after much searching, and have now ordered the jacking toolkit coming from Germany at around £76 inc VAT, about 1 week, and am about to order the space saver wheel from the above website, I'll come back and update when I have tried fitting it on!
I am "old School" and want a spare wheel to drive through Europe on an extended holiday, and I just dont want to rely solely on squirty gunk and roadside assistance. If anyone has further useful info or has already gone down this route for a spare let me know! Cheers

Hi Ralfonso, have you tried the jack yet?...and this one you have is this part number:B66850788
I don't know why its so difficult to get information out of Mercedes. see my post above
cheers

Not sure that the problem with wheel studs fouling the parking brake applies with the 205 as it uses an electronic handbrake operating directly on the discs rather than a mechanism inside a separate drum.

The comment could apply to a 204 and certainly to a 203 which used shorter studs for the space saver, however.

Thanks Ernie, going to give the spare wheel fitting a dummy run before I take off for Europe and I'll le you know

Hi yes I have tried it, there were no issues, just remember to remove the plastic inserts in the sill.

Hi yes I have tried it and there were no issues, part number on the one I have is A2125800018, the link in my post is for this item, with it you get wheel brace, gloves, wedge, bag etc.

Kunzmann delivered today and came up trumps. The main box was marked up Mercedes Benz and as you can see all the individual bits all have MB part No's. Even came with a good quality nylon bag. Part No for the Kit was A205 580 0100

Uk price is £83.40 from your friendly dealer. I guess you can ask for a discount to get closed to the £77.84 !

As my earlier post , I contacted my local dealers' parts dept and told them I wanted a Jack and wrench for my car , asked for the reg number and said that he'd check the system and get back to me. Called me back in an hour and said that the Jack was £108.00 & the wrench was £13.00 all plus vat , asked if there was any discount and the best price was £135.00 inclusive of vat. I appreciate that whoever I spoke to can't obviously know everything about MB parts but the stupidest part of it all is why do MB sell the complete kit , Jack, wrench, base, centering pin , chock and carry bag for £80.00 (All in a box with an individual part number) and sell the Jack on it's own for £130.00 ??????? I haven't got access to MB part numbers .

Am I right in thinking the space saver is still too large to get stored under the boot floor in the W205 estate?

There's not much room under the floor, certainly no preformed recess for a space saver.

The C220 Estate 2017 model W205 has a fusebox under the boot floor where the spare wheel would have sat on on my 2012 C220. I kept the space saver wheel from my old car but there is no way it is going to fit in there. Very disappointing. I used the space saver on the previous car numerous times, the last 4 Pirelli tyres all distorted and got lumps that wore through to busting point. I switched to Continental and they were fine.

Thanks everyone. Does anyone have the part numbers please for the wheel ? and tyre size? also the jack number ? to fit a 2016 W205 18 inch wheel amg premium line, Thanks for any info

Even then , if caught without the short bolts , you just put the steel wheel on the front where longer bolts aren’t an issue ( unless your bolts aren’t threaded all the way up ) and use a front wheel on the back .

I would ( and did ) always buy a full size spare so you don’t have to put up with the 50mph and max 50miles speed/distance limit they come with .

Also how does the car perform in an emergency stop with one skinny wheel fitted ?

And if there is no space for a full size wheel , where do you put your wheel with a puncture , if your boot is full of luggage , as it tends to be on holidays .
