Welcome.

What issues are you having?

Hi kianok thanks for the welcome , I thought I'd start a separate thread for the problem , common one I think .
I bought a Foxwell fault scanner over Xmas to reset some faults on my other car (Z3) and blow me if the E Class didn't throw up an engine light warning . I've not got around to locating the sensors as yet .

So I had a look today and located the Mass Air Flow system got a pic off the net , two electrical connections left and right which I think are the Air Intake Sensors ? They look like they are integral and don't separate as I pulled one of the connections off .
Anybody had any issues with this unit , faults above .
All help much appreciated .

Had a delve yesterday , disconnected the hoses either side of the unit , these contained filters which were a bit clogged with debris . Cleaned , replaced , reset fault code and went for a drive , the engine light didn't come on while driving but returned later when the car had been parked up a while .
Same fault B2/7b1 which is the right hand air intake sensor , as can be seen above the plug can be disconnected but the sensor does not come out so the whole unit has to be changed (£££££) . Before I buy one I'm going to remove the whole unit a take a look just in case there is some foreign body in there but I suspect this is wishful thinking .

Had another look today and everything looks ok apart from a bit of oil on the sensors , sprayed with contact cleaner but no good . Tomorrow I'm going to try and separate the boot sensor housings and swap them around , if the fault goes from right to left then I'll buy the new unit .

Ok just finished and it wasn't easy , using a heat gun I managed after some time to remove and switch left and right Mass Air Flow manifold sensor boots over and yep the fault moved , I now have a B2/6b1 (Left air intake temp sensor)implausible .
So I need a whole new manifold , brilliant (not) , what a crazy idea when they could have been made so you could just swap out the sensors .
