W208 1997 CLK 320 - Crank Position Sensor part number?

Replacing the crank sensor on our "R" reg Merc CLK 320 with thanks to the forum for the great instructions.

I was led to believe that the replacement Bosch part number was 0261 210170

but upon pulling the sensor, the old sensor has the part number 0261 210142

Can anybody shed light on this? It looks exactly the same as seen in the top picture here - PeachPartsWiki: R&R of the Crankshaft Position Sensor

Did Bosch replace the 210142 with the 210170?
