Hi Everybody

This is my first post so hope this is in the right place & hasn't been posted before though I know there has been lots of post about wheels and tyres.

Right, my partner has just brought a CLK 320 convertible with AMG 18'' wheels on, I have know idea of the offset (ET), If somebody could tell me how to find the Offset would be appreciated.

I've looked at the Mercedes-benz wheel fitting chart here

Alloy Wheels Direct Ltd | Fitting Chart Index

but the tyre size on them don't match up on the back?

The Fronts do have 225/40R18 on them however the rears have 245/40/18?

Is this OK or should they be changed at the rear for 255/35R18?

This is not my picture but mine look the same as these:-

Many thanks in advance.

Yes the tyre sizes are okay. Some have staggered rim set up so backs are wider than the fronts.

Doubt they'll be meant to be on a CLK , the CLK AMG's never came with anything bigger than a 17 inch wheel in the style you show ( or at all ) .

The offsets will be stamped on the back of each wheel ( will begin ET xx ) If they are staggered , the rear offsets will be different to the front offsets.

Thanks Terry, I just wondered why the rear size on my partners car didn't match what is on the fitting chart as they only mention 255/35 and nothing about 245/40.
I only ask because they need replacing so making sure the right size go on.

If anyone has any suggestions on what tyres work well please let me know, I was looking at the Toyo's or Goodyear's?

Thanks

Paul

Correct wheel / tyre sizes for the CLK AMG wheels are ...

Front :-

225/45/17

Back :-

245/40/17

Check the offsets on the wheels you have on , be interesting to see what they are.

Thanks Howard, I'll ahve a look tonight, I was told by the seller that they were added aftermarket guess I should stay with the sizes of tyre already on there?
Thanks
Paul
