W208 Heated Door Mirrors

Hi,

Just noticed that both nearside and offside heated door mirrors on Cabrio don't appear to be working, but the heated rear window is working OK. Checked fuses are OK - any idea where to start looking?

The wires inside the mirror can be prone to ageing and cracking the solder joints, I know from experience......

Worth taking a look inside the mirror shell to see if this is the case.

On my 202, the heated mirrors are not activated by a switch.

I think they come on below a certain temprature (perhaps).

You could check that it is original glass and the heater wire is actually connected on the back of the glass.

Previous owner could have cracked the mirrors and bought stick on ones, these obviously dont have heating elements in them.

Hi,
The mirror heaters are fed from the CAN and are activated below 4 degrees Celsius.
As been said look at the connections on the back of each of the mirror glass and check for continuity from the mirror connectors to the main mirror plug.
