W208 Noisey Dash

I have an noise which sounds like a stone jumping around behind my dashboard when I'm driving. I can hear it most when I'm cuising on the motorways.

Can anybody suggest any common places to look. I've tried emptying the door compartments and the glove box but its still there.

Maybe check ash trays and behind the air vents?

Have you been able to 'identify' where it is roughly coming from? (ie, LHS/RHS top/bottom)

I have a similar problem. I think a child has dropped a small bead down the driver's side windscreen airvent, and I sometimes hear it rollling around inside. When I had my screen changed earlier this year I asked the bodyshop to have a look for it. They said they'd tried but couldn't get to it, and that the only way for the trunking to come out was out into the engine bay.

I have been tempted to spray some glue down there to stick the offending article in place, but don't want to get high on hot days!

Have you tried popping the bonnet up and looking in the area around the brakes master cylinder?
