W208 steering wheel swap

yes it will fit :)

OK, yes it will fit.

However if its a facelift wheel then it will require a new airbag with the buttons for radio control etc. Your 1998 CLK will be pre-facelift with no buttons on the steering wheel for radio.

You then need to add a few wires to deal with the canbus signals and the new horn wiring. You will also need to update your instrument cluster to a facelift one to cope with all this.

And you also need an airbag ring.

The ebay description says it is for a late model W210 which means it will be facelift.................

if you decide to go for it, then i have a document that shows how to update to the facelift. I did this to my CLK.

You could of course, fit it with a facelift airbag and not have the functionaility of the buttons but you would have to find a way to make the horn work.

from looking at the wheel i agree with this - compare the wheel inner shape (ie where the airbag sits) between the pic in the howto i posted and the pic in the ebay ad

Your right, thats good news for spongebob as it means no need for modifications should be a straight swap.
