Went to put the window up on my dads w208 and it goes up about 1/3 stops goes back 1cm , will go all the way down, seems to be jamming on something.

    Anyone any ideas?

    Thanks.

Do an electric window reset, does it on my car every now and then. That's the free option anyway

It's the safety mech. You are right it is hitting an obstruction, possibly just needs the channel cleaning a bit.

I did try pulling it with my hand at the same time put it just seems solid at 1/3 up , then yes safety goes back 1cm.

@ ash- do you mean your window did like mine- stops 1/3 up and the reset(-full down hild button for 5 secs cured it?)

    Thanks

    Reset did not work.

Took the card off, front rubber guide had frayed & came out jamming the window.
Plulled it up out cut bottom 1/3 away pushed back in and its working.

Use a lattice wooden frame to fill the gap, looks quite nice and you could then trail climbing plants along it in future?

Having said that - your dad might notice and you're in the doo doo. Best leave it, he might not notice that way until it rains and then he'll have forgotten the last time you borrowed it?
