I'm after some help/advice with my 2005 CLK55 (W209 facelift) climate control. If used manually all works ok but when switched to auto the fan is quite high and goes up and down erratically. Local indie can’t find any fault codes and the flaps re-set all worked ok. The car has been checked for AC gas so that is ok.
I’m thinking it is a sensor giving the system a duff reading but which one especially knowing that the switch unit is £400 and the overhead lighting unit is over £200!
One other item that may be related is that the auto sound level on the HK sound system doesn’t appear to work for which I believe there is a sensor in the overhead lighting unit but that could be because of the overall fan noise going on in the car I suppose!
Any thoughts?
