W209 CLK Tyre recommendations

Hi, need to change all 4 tyres on the 350 v6 CLK. Its my first Mercedes so what tyre are people using, looking for recommendations.

The car has a mixture of tyres at the moment.

Depends a lot on your budget. You are going to get varying recommendations based on everyones preference:D

Here's mine;)
Premium Brands.......... Goodyear Assymetric F1 3's or 5's and Michelin Pilot Sport
Mid Range..... Falken F510 and ZE914's, Hankook and Kumho
Budget...... Nangang.

Dunlop Sportmaxx RT on my 350 coupe, pleased with them.:thumb:
 
I am on my third set of tyres for my CLK. Hankook were Ok, Continentals were rubbish convinced I had a wheel bearing gone they were that noisey. Now on Dunlop Sport Max RT and just love them.
 
Personally I would go for the best deal you can find for premium tyres: Michelin, Continental, Pirelli.

I had a car which I suspect has the same 17-inch staggered tyre set up and tried tyres from all three, and you’d have to be a much better driver than me driving at eleven tenths to notice any differences between them.

In that car I covered around 120k miles over the course of 10 years of so, and it wore Pirelli PZeroes most (lots of people don’t like them, but I do), and Michelin Alpin A4 covered by far the furthest distance of any tyre in that car.
 
Had Contis on mine, didn't like them

Put Hankooks on, much better, but alkensF were great on my Saab which had lots of torque

The replacement E class coupe came with Contis on and haven't changed my view (another year left on them I suspect, then perhaps All Season Bridgestone)
 
I’ll be honest I can’t tell any difference between the various brands of premium tyres I’ve had fitted to my cars.

I’ve got RT2’s on the front of my S212 now as replacements for Conti’s. huge improvement, quieter and seem to turn in a lot better. Eagle asymmetric 3’s on the rear, they have been my go to tyre on my Alfa (GTV V6) but I prefer the Dunlop’s on the Mercedes. I noticed the new Assymetrics are a fair bit noisier according to the specs?

Nope I can’t, but then I only drive an E320 and E250 mainly on motorways on cruise control. Not an AMG.

Had hankook on xf jaguar , load of rubbish very noisey in rear .took them off even though they were only half worn.

Nothing to do with the nonsense AMGs . Biggest difference I saw was noise and wet weather grip going from contis to Goodyear on my wife’s 350. My golf tdi had Bridgestones on it when I got it. They were rough as hell, I put Pirelli P7s on it and it transformed the nvh to sclass standards ( nearly )

Me neither. I can tell the difference between new tyres and old tyres, or maybe changing from summer tyres to winter tyres (just)...

...but if switching brands at the same time then my senses are not calibrated sufficiently to be able to distinguish what is down to being new, what is down to the manufacturer and what is down to the tread pattern.
 
I have Avons on mine, I think they are an excellent mid range tyre. Not noisy, wearing well and not too expensive.
 
I like Uniroyal wet or dry the grip is excellent, reasonable price and one of the quietest tyres around.
