Having changed the batteries in the key fobs, checked the fuses connected with the central locking and alarm, reset the key as per the manual, I have a strange thing happening.
The central locking works fine from the dash switch and so does the boot/trunk release, but not with the key fob, unless I go for a 30 minute drive. When I return the key fob works fine. If I leave the car for say 48 hours, the key fob will have stopped working.
Is there a battery anywhere in the system that needs charging and if not charged the central locking will stop working?
The car battery is brand new and fully charged.
