W209 CLK 500
I'm a little confused about replacing the front disks+pads on my '05 W209 CLK500.
I bought Zimmerman disks & Mintex pads from my local ECP.

The two disks look to be the right size etc., are identical, and the boxes carry a Zimmerman part number plus ""A 209 421 00 12".

A check on the disks fitted at the moment (presumably original since it has only done 49K miles) show them to be left & right handed. The variation is in the way the ventilation slots curve - both disks on the car pull air in from the edge of the disk, exiting by the hub.

So how come the car was made with different disks left & right, but EPC Net shows only a single part number - "A 209 421 00 12" ?

I'm not going to worry about this - I can't see my driving style ever getting the disks hot enough for it to matter, but I would like to know what's going on.

Thanks,
Ian.

They are definately both the same..

We did the same job on a CLK 500 just yesterday.

Note that MB were much cheaper on the discs (£52 Retail) than Euro or GSF.

Thank you for setting my mind at rest.

For reference, the GSF* disks were £66.50+VAT. Next time, it's M-B first...

Thanks,
Ian.

*Not Euro Car Parts - a bit of a blonde moment there.

Yep I am slowly convincing all the staff here to always check MB prices first.. their consumables are often very well priced..

We get 25% off consumables so those discs came in at under £40 each.. a bargain..
