Hi,

Im gaining problems faster than i can fix them now, out the blue after working perfectly, the car takes ages to start, it cranks and cranks an then reluctantly does start, smells of fuel and sometimes with a pop from the exhaust. Im convinced its lost power now too, no where near as quick off the line..

Anyone had this?

It could be fuel pressure related. Needs Togo on a Star. No need for a main dealer. Any specialist can read it.

thanks guys, got a funny feeling it is fuel pressure, if i prime it with the ignition on a few times before hand, it starts first time

Yes I did have a similar problem on another car, if you start then stop does its start 1st time? if so you could have a leaking injector, have you recently put any injector cleaner through the car? as sometimes this can cause problems on older injectors.

The timing needs to be checked now. Have you tested the fuel pressure to be sure?

Not checked fuel pressure as it did'nt flag up on the star, should I check it anyway? And how much should the pressure be, thanks so much for the help by the way
