W209 Door Mirror Indicator Replacement

Am I right in thinking the mirror glass needs to come off before you can unscrew the LED indicator unit? If so does it just pop off or do you need to release a spring clip behind it?

Release the glass at the top. It will be clipped in. be careful as it is easy to smash the galss.

By release you mean pull? I've done this before on the R129 - however you could dip the mirror down to expose the spring clip which could be released with a hook.

Those instructions are for a W209 after 29.03.04

Before that date the lens is removed by pushing a clip hidden behind the lens on the outside edge. (Left or right of lens depending on what one you are doing)

My 210 also had double sided tape between the mirror and the black plastic mount, right bugger to get off.

Not on my 209 they don't.
