W209 Folding Mirror Fault

New fault today.

Got into my car earlier in a car park, drove up to pay to get out and then pulled onto the main road. Check RVM and then the wing mirrors which were still folded in. Pushed the button and out they popped.

Got home, locked the car and the mirrors folded in. Unlocked the car, got in and mirrors refused to move. Pushed the button and out they popped.

Only had the car 3 weeks and keep getting small problems like this.

Tried a search on the forum but gave up after 10 pages.

Any suggestions most welcome.

Mine did this too last week.

I've found that the door needs to be opened fully or the mirrors sometimes stay folded. Opening the door slightly in tight car parks & squeezing in doesn't always work.

The only thing I did differently was I held the boot release button down from a distance so the boot was open for maybe 15 seconds before it was closed again.

I can't for the life of me see why the mirrors would sulk about the boot being opened.

Absolutely correct RFO65. Door has to open beyond halfway point to activate the mirror but now the door has to remain open for a second or so whereas before it was instant.
These Mercedes electronics are very strange things.
