Hi all,

A new W209 2005 CLK owner with the less than amazing Command cd system.

Finally saved up enough readies for a decent head unit but to get the most out of it the best would be storing an ipod in the glovebox via the rear USB and connecting Android phone via Bluetooth, trouble is I don't know how difficult it will be to get a rear usb to the glovebox as my CLK didn't have the original 3.5mm adapter fitted.

FYI I'm looking at one of the AppRadio head units from Pioneer unless anybody has any better suggestions?

Really hope you can help.

There are pre stamped cut outs in the box. It is really simple once you get in there.

It seasy to fit another headunit but you will need a fascia adapter and a loom adapter set.

Think carefully about the App Radio as we benchmarked one in a smart and its not that friendly to use. To start with you have to plug the phone in everytime you want to use it with the unit and you also need to load up a special app on the iphone. Its not very user friendly so we've stopped selling them.

If you want an all signing and dancing head unit then take a look at the Alpine range. They do just about everything you can think of and we have never had a waranty return ever on any Alpine unit. They are very very reliable. Unlike Sony, dynavin etc. The only two aftermarket makes to consider in our opinion are Alpine and Kenwood. Both excellent.

Quick question... I know you can get an interface to keep your steering wheel controls when changing to an after market head unit but is there an interface that will also allow you to keep the dash display?
