2002 W209 CLK240
Hi guys,

I have a problem with my keyless go on my 2002 W209 CLK.

It doesn't seem to work first thing in the morning. Doors and boot open fine but the start/stop button doesn't work, no 'key not recognized' or anything.

After a 5 minute drive with the key in the ignition, I pull the key out and try the start/stop button and it works fine throughout the day.

You could try some new batteries in the fob.

The key is brand new(about a month old) and the fault only happens first start in the morning. Could it still be the fob batteries?

Yes, as keys presumably are warming up once you have picked them off the hook/pile and put them in your pocket.

However, given they open the car door (we assume), it is less likely, but as batteries are cheap it is worth trying.

There is an internal aerial (on the SL its below the stereo) which technically could be failing - but in reality its just a piece of wire in some plastic.

Have you tried the other key ?

So, change batteries and see what happens

Richard
