My CLK has developed the squeaky rear end, so thought its time to replace the lower control arm to wheel carrier bushes.

Looked in my copy of EPC and it came up with A 220 352 02 27, went to confirm the Lemforder part number on ZF's Webcat and it stated '10747 01 no longer manufactured, use 34756 01, which has an MB original number of A221 352 00 27.

My copy of EPC (purported to be 2014 vintage) doesn't recognise A2213520027, and sniffing about the internet, I came across a 2009 post in this forum from a poster 'partspecialist' stating A 221 352 00 27 had replaced A 220 352 02 27. (Post #19 in this thread:https://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/general-discussion/62852-500e-epc.html

The physical difference seems to be that the A220 part has an internal diameter of 14 mm and the A221 part has 14.1 mm. Given the number of mentions of seized/bound bushes on the 14mm bolt, I thought it maybe possible that MB had fractionally increased the internal diameter to help prevent binding over time and usage. I don't know, so its only conjecture.

Seeing as this bush is used in an awful lot of MB models over very many years, I am surprised there is not more on the internet about it.

Could any of our more technically aware members recommend which bush I should acquire?
