W209 Speedo (analogue) not working

Hi,

Was recently gifted (FIL didn’t use anymore) a 2007 CLK in good condition which I just MOT’d and serviced. Took it for a drive this morning and the analogue speedo has stopped working, the digital one seems ok.

65k 220 CDI

Is this something I can repair myself i.e a sensor replacement or do I need to get it booked in somewhere.

Any fault codes? That would be my first step.....On my ALFA I had a similar thing....turned out that it took the speed from the ABS/wheel speed sensor that was intermittent......£14 for a new sensor and ten minutes to fix....sorted. That said I just thinking out loud and have no idea if your car works in the same way!....so best of luck getting it sorted and someone with far more knowledge will be along shortly!!!
