hi all
this is my first post on here so apologies in advance if I did something wrong
My old trusty 2001 E-class 220CDi Mercedes has developed somewhat of a luck of boost syndrome recently. When I press the accelerator I can hear the turbo whistling noise kicking in but not much power increase, nowhere near what you would expect if the turbo was working properly. I can only get about 80mph max at the moment.
I looked inside the engine compartment and noticed there's a split in the turbo IC pipe, the split is near top of the engine and about and inch long.
Would this cause the loss of power I am experiencing?
thank you for any info.
Andy
