W210 and retro fitting xenons

I am sure this has been asked before, but can't find it.....

Does the ECU need to be told if retro fitting factory xenon headlights. Also is there any other parts need, apart from the headlamp ??

Do a google you need quite a few expensive bits, 2 height sensors, looms etc etc and as you say car has to be told it now got posh lights, and to make it worse they arent very good anyway

Wifes w203 has xenons and they are amazing much much better than mine.
