W210 Avantgarde grill

I'm thinking about an Avantgarde grill for my car. Should I buy a genuine part from a dealer or are the copies ok?
If anyone could point me in the directing of a good place it would be helpful.

I have a crappy fake avantgarde grille on my C43.
I HATE IT!
Don't buy any fake crap!
OEM will cost you more but will hold it's looks and quality for a long time!

My chrome strips on my grille turned whitish, chrome oxidation.
These white spots are impossible to remove.
Being stupeeeeeeeeeeeed buying fake stuff thinking I'm going to save a buck, you are dead wrong, these grilles will look like sh-- after a few years!
Only thing I can do is to paint it matte black or get my self a new Avantgarde grille from stealership.

Check your local junkyards for crashed w210's if you can find an undamged grille from an Avantgarde w210 for less than a steal

1996-1999 - prefacelift.
A tenner plus the postage and it's yours.

That's what I was worried about. Not sure if it was here or some other forum,someone got one off eurocar parts which apparently was ok.Otherwise its dealer or like you say,scrappy.
Janner is yours a genuine Mercedes grill?

So long as it's not all pitted I'll take it.Otherwise I'd rather get a new one.

Hi,
The one I've got is not bad. The black plastic bit is fine and if you don't like the look of the chrome bars you can replace them for a couple of quid each from a main dealer. It would look like new then.
Don't forget that a new one from MB doesn't include the chrome bars and you have to buy them separately anyway.
Aftermarket ones are mostly junk
