So now I'm a bit confused as to how to get to the brushes. I'm assuming this black fan comes away from the motor, (which I haven't figured out how to do yet) but ultimately, I'm guessing the motor casing is gonna need levering apart too?

Any ideas folks?

I sorted it, I wedged the freely-rotating insides against the casing, and 'screwed' the plastic blades off.

After examining the brushes, I have about 1cm to 2cm of brush left, but I'm considering inventing some type of wedge to give me about another half centimetre.

I'm now wondering though whether my intermittent fan was down to the brushes, or whether it may be down to the filters. The Carbon filters are black, and I'm guessing the pollen filters are similar.

Can I run around with no filters, as the ones I have seem to be doing nothing good any more.
