Hi.

Could someone help me with my W210 Estate 7 seater? I pulled all the boot lining under my extra 2 seats to check for rust but i found some water in there and all the sound deadening simply had turned into like sloppy wet cardboard.
Where would this water come from?

Orite..
I dont have any water in the spare wheel area on the passenger side or where the CD changer , both are bone dry.
Water was only under the extra 2 seats bottoms.
Are these tailgate rubber seals common failure? Do you have to change the one on the tailgate and the other on the body?
It comes from the sky.:D

It enters your car via the tailgate's rubber seal or the rear side windows' seals.

My S123's boot seats also got wet and left for months... a nasty moldy mess!
The leak was via the tailgate seal which a few holes in the corners and down by the latch.

Had a look online for a new tailgate rubber seal, ouch it is 100£ plus....is it worth it going down the second hand route?
I cant see any major defects on my tailgate seal, just couple of small tears.
Could it be old age thing and it is somehow deformed or lost its sealing ability?

Any ideas?

My 123's seal only had small holes, yet the leak was pretty big over months.

I've got a used S210 tailgate seal in good nick, no holes or tears. :)
