Ello people right my 2001 w210 boot won't open I had to put in a second hand lock as my original was all broken, but unfortunately it was from a earlier w210 and I never got a key but I connected the vacuum hose when I locked the car the boot locked but now I'm unlocking an the rest of the car is unlocking except the boot I even tried the button near the gear stick to open the boot but I can hear a sound but the boot isn't opening nor can I use the remote to release the boot, to fit the new lock from the earlier model I removed a brown and blue wire, now firstly how can I open the boot and secondly what do I need to look in to for the boot to operate with my central Locking system can I modify the earlier lock all help appreciated, j

A key for the boot lock can be cut by an MB dealer IF you can obtain the VIN of the car that you took the replacement lock from.

An alternative means of entry is to try blowing through the Yellow airline that goes to the boot lock, this may or may not open the boot lock. The video below shows the boot (Trunk) Yellow airline, remove it and put it between your lips and blow as hard as you can through the airline, this should open the boot if there is nothing wrong with the airline or the air actuator on the boot lock.

An alternative to blowing with your mouth is to use a bicycle pump, if it can be connected to the airline so it won’t leak air.

Does the car have a First Aid box in the rear parcel shelf?

Hello thanks for the reply no it doesn't have a first aid box on he back shelf just 2 speakers each side

I ask because there is a way into a W202 boot when the First Aid box is removed, this gives access to two bolts, A & B in picture, which when removed will allow the boot to open.

Any chance you have a Ski Hatch behind the rear arm rest?

Try disconnecting battery and reconnecting. Worked for mine
