w210 CLimate illumination?

I drove the car tonight for the first time and it seems the lights (IF any) for the limate are not working, I have the red ones for which buttons are pushed but the LCD has no backlight, should it? And how easy a bulb to change if so?

It should have a backlight. Pretty sure it's LED(s) and not very bright when it is illuminated.

Its not LED. The unit is removed just as you would the radio...with keys in the two slots. There is a bulb in a holder on the underside.

You say LCD display so I assume you have digital climate control in which case there is just 1 illumination bulb which is very easily changed with the MB removel keys. Go to your local dealer and get the following:

Bulb - A 002 544 02 94 - £1.56

Removel Keys - W 000 589 88 63 00 - £1.13

The climate panel takes less than 10 seconds to remove with those keys and the bulb is on the underside of the unit.
