Hi
Just bought Comand to replace my old one in my W210 estate.
When connected to the car whilst on my knee prior to screwing in place, I had to press rear connector block (one with over handle locking mechanism) to get a reading on dash display and for steering wheel controls to work.
Fitted Comand into car and No dash display or steering wheel controls.
Also Sat Nav states route being calculated and route planned, but as the car is not seeming to be connected by steering wheel and dash the route is not displayed but the maps change location so Satellite connection works.
Also the unit does not switch on and off with ignition, or dim when lights are switched on.
I have to switch it on as if the keys are not in the ignition and if I drive a long journey for circa 30 mins it sends a warning message then turns itself off.
I have tried contact cleaner on all connections to no avail.
Can anyone help or give me details of good electrical engineer in Gloucester who will not rip me off.
