Could anyone enlighten me on the difference between a2108100221 & a2108100421?

The auto dimming mirror has started to "bleed" and I'm on the hunt for a replacement.

I've found both p/no. on Inchcape and have spoken to them, but I'm still none the wiser. Most websites list the 2 parts as interchangeable, but there must be some sort of difference as one is £233 & the other £309.

a2108100221 = Mirror glass, right.

a2108100421 = Mirror glass, aspherically curved, right.

I've got a BNIB 210 810 03 21 (Mirror glass, aspherically curved, left) if you fancy a matching pair.

So am I correct in thinking that both 0221 & 0421 are auto dimming, with the only difference being aspherical on the latter?

I've found a listing for ULO 6214-10 for £25 which x-ref 2108100221 on ULO's website. It's is described as just "flat" with no further details.

While ULO 6214-12 - 2108100421 is described as "electrochrome" & aspherical

I'd be over the moon if I could get the plain one with auto dimming for just £25 as I've seen plain used ones on eBay for over £100!

Does this look like the correct heated, auto dimming mirror?

Duuno, I'm unfamiliar with aftermarket versions.

I have found these 2. They're genuine MB parts in excellent undamaged condition.

The top one has a slightly bronzier look to it. PM me if you are interested.

Yup, tried it & was a really good replacement part. Looks like the genuine part with just the star ground off before the part number. Good quality wiring & plugs all fit.

I took a chance on a very cheap, poorly listed, boxed new-old-stock genuine MB part, also on eBay, so fitted that instead. I got more than my money back when I stuck the replacement part back on eBay - win win!

Hi,
I am sure the difference in pt.no.s is whether the vehicle is RHD or LHD, I fitted a second hand one I bought from E-bay (complete mirror) and it just wasn't right it was horrible my view seemed restrictive almost claustrophobic so bad I had to replace it.
At that point I fitted facelift mirrors and bought the correct glass from Euros, bought as pattern part but was identical to MB one just the OEM pt. no. scratched out.
As above the pt. no.s cant be the difference between pre-facelift and facelift as the facelift 210s had completely different mirrors.
When searching for 210 mirrors do look for 202 mirrors as they are the same (though 202 never came with memory option though the only difference is the mirror adjusting motor).

Hi, I know it is an old one, but has anyone got any of those self dimming/anti glare side mirror glass for the w210 in their sheds or ideas of aftermarket replacements? MB price is a joke. Part number is 2108100421 or 2108100221.

I've got a 210 810 02 21. Put up an email address & I'll send you pix.

Hi, does anyone out there have a 210 810 02 21 (driver side wing mirror glass) in reasonable condition for sale?
