W210 E240 correct wheel size for 17" rims

I know that the standard wheel size for these 17" rims would be 235/45/17. But I want the car just a bit higher from ground level - can I use 225/55/17's? Thanks.

I wouldn't recommend using tyre profile to increase the ground clearance! Your best bet is to look into suspension changes like thicker rubber perches or springs/shocks.
